Because of the excitement and anticipation over next week’s Princess Half Marathon, all kinds of things are quickly sneaking up on me… dentist appointments, committee meetings, family visits, work deadlines, blog posts and ahem, Valentine’s Day. So, I’ve put together a virtual round-up featuring some of my most favorite Valentine’s Day-inspired sweet treats. They’re ones I’ve made in the past (and continue to make) for many of my favorite people.
Up first, these beautiful Broken Heart Chocolate Cookies I received during the ‘French Fridays with Dorie’ Secret Valentine Cookie Swap. Rich and chocolatey, they’ll certainly cure a broken heart. Second from top left are my Chocolate Ganache-Topped Mini Cheesecakes. This recipe makes two adorable mini cheesecakes, just perfect as an after-dinner dessert on Valentine’s Day. Next up is a batch of ‘Chocolate Wasted’ Cookies… so fudgy, gooey and brownie-like, they just melt in your mouth.
On the second row, we’ve got an adorable plate of Valentine Linzer Hearts. Simple, sweet little cookies that are guaranteed to put a smile on the recipient’s face! And on to my personal favorite, these Valentine’s Day PB Blossoms. I created them for Live Sigma Kappa in February of 2012 and they continue to take the net by storm! Next to these are a few Nestlé® Sweethearts, which features their ever-popular Chocolate Chip cookie recipe.
Bringing up the bottom row is a batch of Heart-Healthy Cherry-Chocolate Chip Cookies. Filled with oats, dried cherries and dark chocolate chips, they’re a sweet ending to any meal (and come complete with a Weight Watchers PointsPlus™ Value!). Next to those is one of my ’30 Before 30′ triumphs: Doughnuts. The batter is a super-simple one, bearing hot & fresh doughnuts within a 30-minute window! The last recipe I’ve included is one for Double Chip Brownies. C’s favorite sweet treat, these brownies pack a one-two punch with adorable dark chocolate & red colored Valentine chips by Nestlé® Toll House.
Hope your Valentine’s Day is a sweet one!
