Last month, I brought you along as I began our kitchen mini-makeover with Delta Faucet. Since then, I’ve had remodeling on the brain: I’ve read how-to books, browsed DIY blogs, shopped home improvement websites and pinned many a pin on my ‘Inspired Living’ Pinterest board.
And once I started to look at my pins, I noticed a trend. It seems I’m a huge fan of antiqued white cabinetry; shiny stainless appliances; dark wood floors; granite countertops and open, airy spaces. Now, I’m a realist and most of those things on my dream kitchen list don’t fit into the “mini-makeover” category. However, a few of those changes can be made for less money than you’d think.
Refreshing your cabinetry with a few coats of brightly colored paint will make everything in the kitchen pop. And aside from a fresh coat of paint, there’s another inexpensive option you can implement: simply change out your cabinet hardware. This quick & easy update can transform dated cabinets into stylish, new ones and the only tool you need is a handy screwdriver.
I’ve also scoured the house for accessories to place around the kitchen. Things I’d normally reserve for a bedroom or the living room now find their home on my countertops or in the attached dining area. I’ve got a wrought-iron bookshelf reserved just for my cookbook collection!
We’re still pulling everything together, but I can’t wait to show you the end result. Next time, I’ve got Before & After photos to share with you, as well as the DIY video Delta put together to assist in the installation of their faucets. It helped us tremendously when we put in our Cassidy faucet!
