It’s February 5th, which means that it’s also World Nutella Day… a day for all Nutella lovers to unite! And thanks to our sweet hostesses, Sara from Ms Adventures in Italy & Michelle from Bleeding Espresso, we can do just that. They created this holiday back in 2007 and work hard rounding up all those lovely Nutella posts you see each year. So thank you, girls!
This year, I decided to go in a healthy direction. These sweet truffles are the perfect little party treat, filled with hearty oats & covered in a creamy, Nutella coating. In just five minutes, you’ve put together a tasty and good-for-you dessert (or breakfast!) that everyone will enjoy. They can even be made ahead of time if you’re in a busy, party-planning mode!
Add the butter, milk and sugar to a medium saucepan over a medium-high heat and stir continuously until the mixture comes to a rapid boil. Continue stirring as the mixture boils for 1 full minute.
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the Nutella until it is well incorporated. Then, stir in the oats until all are coated. Form rounded teaspoonfuls, then drop onto a sheet of waxed paper and allow to set for about an hour before serving.
