I’ve been in a funk lately. And you may have noticed that the blog’s been updated only once in the past week. But, to explain the problem would take a miracle. See, I’ve been super busy and as a result, have plenty of exciting things to talk about – wedding showers, bridal portraits, pretty presents and a special trip to Idaho planned for the end of the month (more on that one soon!). But, for the life of me, I can’t stand up and shout it to the world.
Yesterday’s weather was so absolutely beautiful, though, that I just had to get into the kitchen. Baking has the serenest way of calming me down and I truly miss it when I don’t have the time. With that said, I got to work on two different recipes… both with several timely steps involved. The first is last week’s FFwD, Spice-Poached Pears. The second? Come back tomorrow for that one!
Warm, tangy and a hint of Fall spices, this fruit dish has it all. It evokes open windows, cozy throws and brightly-lit candles. Super simple to prepare and a lovely treat filled with sweet oranges, tart lemons, spicy cinnamon and star anise. Whether you’re serving it to guests or enjoying on your own, it’s perfectly wonderful.
