In need of a sweet treat for this Friday? Well, you’re in luck… and it’s just in time for Labor Day Weekend!
The Pantry is a beautiful restaurant just off the old square in downtown McKinney, TX. The food has a home-cooked flavor and you walk away from your meal feeling full and loved. And their Chocolate Chip Pie is to die for. A thick slice of it is comparable to munching on a giant, cripsy Chocolate Chip Cookie.
Sounds good, right? It takes less than an hour to prepare, leaving plenty of time to relax on the porch this holiday! Me? I’ll be cleaning out closets and planting flowers all weekend, but I’ve saved a piece just for tonight’s dessert!

Ingredients
- 2 lg eggs
- 1/2 c unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 c granulated sugar
- 1/2 all-purpose flour
- 1-1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 c dark chocolate chips
- 1 c pecans, chopped
- 1 (10-inch) pie shell
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix eggs, butter, sugar, flour and vanilla extract together. Fold in chocolate chips and chopped pecans. Pour into pie shell.
Bake pie for 55 minutes to 1 hour. Serve with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream and enjoy!

Notes
Never stir chocolate chips into warm melted butter. The chips will melt and you will have a completely different pie.
