Tuesdays With Dorie – Basic Biscuits

Basic Biscuits

It was a whirlwind weekend, as we picked up our German exchange student at the airport and treated him to an All-American dinner of hamburgers and fries (with a trip to the County Fair, as well!). So on Sunday morning, I woke up to the beautiful (and long awaited) sound of rain on the roof and went to baking. It took just a few short minutes to whisk together the ingredients and pat out the dough. And along with a hot pot of coffee, dollop of peach preserves and few slices of bacon, these made for a quaint little breakfast. Very easy, very tasty and of course, very comforting.

Wow, I wish I had thought of throwing a few strips of bacon onto these biscuits (instead of just an egg).
Yours look delicious, those layers are just begging to be split open and devoured!
