Tuesdays With Dorie – Midnight Crackles

by Jessica on January 4, 2011

Midnight Crackles

It’s our third anniversary over at Tuesdays With Dorie – can you believe it? I’m sure Laurie never imagined how fast this group would grow or how well-loved it would become, but here we are, going strong three years later! It’s an honor to be a part of such an amazing group of bakers, so Happy Anniversary y’all!

This week we tackled Dorie’s Midnight Crackles… just perfect for New Year’s Eve. My family and I enjoyed these chocolate spice cookies with a nice glass of champagne at midnight last Friday and then again on Saturday afternoon at the Rose Bowl Party I hosted (GO Frogs!). The dough was a bit tough to roll after it left the chilly fridge, but in the end, it was definitely worth all the sore hand muscles! I even ended up eating a few for breakfast yesterday morning! They’re a bit crunchy on the edges and a little chewy in the center… SO yum!

Many thanks to this week’s hostesses – Jules of Someone’s In the Kitchen and our fearless leader Laurie of Slush. You know the drill: click over and check out the other posts here! Happy New Year!

Even though these aren’t my favorite chocolate cookies, I just stuck the leftovers in the freezer this morning so I wouldn’t eat them. Love your plateful!
