Fold-Over Pear Torte

The end result of this week’s TWD recipe was a hard one to imagine. There weren’t any pictures in the book, but one guess and a few hints from Twitter later, I ended up with this…

Laws of the Kitchen is this week’s gracious hostess. See her blog for the recipe and browse more lovely tortes from TWD bakers here. Next week… Caramel Pumpkin Pie (and more of that delicious pie dough!)!!

Your torte looks wonderful – the side on view of the slice reveals it in all its glory. You’re right – the dark custard top does make it look like a cheesy pizza! Thanks for baking along with me this week.

I think, many expressed their question about the final look and I also thin, there were many looks. I like the way yours turned out. Good job,.

Jessica – congrats on the beautiful new blog! Looks wonderful – as does your torte – so much different than mine. But equally as good – I hope! Yes, deep dish it was! At least mine was! 🙂

Jessica! Gosh, sorry to be such a stranger lately – I fell way behind in my commenting. Your torte is gorgeous and I couldn’t agree more about Dorie’s crust. I’d never made it before, but it completely won me over this week. Perfection 🙂

Deep Dish Pizza!! Yes it does. Maybe next time in a deep dish pan it would be easier to work with.
