Sweet Melissa Sundays – Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffles

by Jessica on May 2, 2010

PB Truffles 1

This probably ranks as number one on my ‘Messiest Recipes’ list. Not only did I dirty up a ginormous amount of dishes, my hands looked like I had killed a chicken (I would’ve taken a picture, but there was no way I was touching my camera!). Yes, they were incredibly messy to make, but man were they good… like little bites of heaven. I used my absolute favorite dark chocolate peanut butter (featured here) and rolled the truffles in four different coatings: peanuts, pretzels, cocoa powder and graham crackers. The ladies at work were obviously very happy when I brought them in. 🙂

Big thanks to Mara of Love Your Mother Earth for this week’s SMS choice. Check her blog for the recipe and see how the other bakers fared here!

Your 4 different types look so nice presented in that little dish. I’m especially digging the pretzel topping idea – yummmmmm!

Pretzels? That is genius!!!! I bet those were sooo good, some salt crunch with sweet. YUM!! All yours look delicious and it was a messy messy recipe. Wish I had a robot to clean up the kitchen after recipes like that. 🙂

Thanks for baking this week!

Hi Jessica!

How are you? I’m sorry I haven’t been by in a while- unfortunately I’ve been struggling with my health- but I’m trying to get back into the swing of things with SMS and I’m looking forward to keeping in touch with you again each week as we bake together!

Your truffles came out absolutely beautiful (even if the process was a messy one!) and I love all your creative coating ideas- pretzels and graham crackers are new ones I haven’t seen, and both sound really yummy. I’m not surprised you pleased all the ladies at work!

Have a great start to your week and I hope to hear from you soon!

Joy

Haha I’ll echo everyone else – pretzels, YUM! Salty and sweet is the best combo! Your truffles look fabulous 🙂

By the way, I received the cookbook today and can’t thank you enough! I am so excited to flip through and start marking recipes to try. Loved the sweet note you included as well as the fun fact (how cool were those pics??). Thanks for making my Monday a lot better Jessica! 🙂

Beautiful!!!

I, too, had messy hands after just one — that’s when I pulled out the melon-baller!
