Tuesdays With Dorie – Blueberry Crumb Cake

by Jessica on March 24, 2009

I’ve been in love with Starbucks’ Low-fat (yeah, right) Cinnamon Swirl Coffee Cake for quite a while… years, in fact. As it would happen, I went in to my local Bucks one day for my Decaf Americano and they were out of stock. Boo. Fortunately, my friendly Barista turned me on to the Blueberry Crumb Cake. And, OMG. That’s what I’ve been eating for “dessert” after lunch for the past couple of weeks. Yep, a couple of weeks. My waistline just loves me.

So, when I read that Sihan of Befuddlement had chosen Dorie’s Blueberry Crumb Cake, you know I went crazy. “YES!! Blueberry Crumb Cake!! And, I don’t have to pay $3 for a slice! Sweet!”

This was super easy to put together and I’ve gotten so many compliments on it… even my mom (who hates blueberries) loved it. And that deserves a thumbs up. 😉 Don’t forget to check out the other TWD bakers here!!

I always like to re-create things at home. You know what goes in it, and you can make it whenever you want! This was really yummy.

Love your pictures! Gotta love the ability to substitute ridiculously priced SBUX pastries with your own 🙂

Great cake. I really loved this recipe and plan to make it again. Did not the house smell great while it was cooking!?

So nice when you can best your favorite store-bought version of something sweet at home. Nice job!

Haha I love how they call it lowfat. In NYC, any chain has to put up the calorie counts next to the item, so you can see that the low fat cakes still have a gazillion bajillion calories! I think your cake beats this any day!

Oh, this *has* to be better than Starbuck’s – it looks 1000x better!
