Tuesdays With Dorie – French Pear Tart

by Jessica on January 6, 2009

As evident in my pictures, my 29-year-old oven doesn’t love me. 🙂 Although the edge of the tart crust burned, the bottom and middle did not… which made for quite the tasty little tart. Snaps to Dorie for this yummy rum-laced recipe!!

This was a super-yummy tart. I loved it. Your tart looks gorgeous. The burnt edges gives it character. 🙂

The edges of my tart got fairly dark too.

I say you treat yourself to a new oven! 😉 But even with the slightly toasty edges, it still really looks great!

At least you could salvage it, especially after such a beautiful job you did! Glad you got to enjoy some of it!!!! It would have been horrible to have missed out on such a fantastic tart!

Okay, we are friends, so I can tell you, that when I saw the first photo with the burned edge, I burst out laughing…seriously, it is so great other people do stuff like this occasionally, too. The un-edgy part looks really yummy! I kept thinking: i am posting my photo no matter what it looks like because I don’t have time to do another.

Can’t go wrong with rum. You know, you TOTALLY could have lied and said you’d made a chocolate crust. The filling looks really delicious, though. Wow.

That looks delicious!! Its so hard not to burn the edges sometimes! Someone once told me to put some tin foil right along the edge of the crust about half way through and it comes out perfectly! 🙂
