Tuesdays With Dorie – Dimply Plum Cake

Dimply Plum Cake Slice

I wasn’t that thrilled when I read this week’s TWD recipe choice, but surprisingly, I loved it when it came out of the oven. The cardamom and orange zest beautifully complemented the subtle tartness of the plum. It was really yummy… I’m just sad that there are no more slices left! This has got to be a lucky cake, because the second egg I broke open had two yolks inside. 🙂

Lucky Double Yolks

So, as chosen by Michelle of Bake-en, here is the Dimply Plum Cake…

I loved the cake, just not the fruit as much. Yours looks really wonderful!

I agree that the cardamom and orange zest were delicate and lovely together – the cake tasted better than i imagined. Your photos are beautiful!

Your cake looks fabulous and it actually reminds me of that game, Connect Four. I guess it’s the way the plums are swallowed into the cake. Anyway, I enjoyed this one, too!

You cake looks super yummy. I used a smaller plan and bigger plums and we ate it up quite fast.

Excited for TCU/OU this weekend? I know I am!

Love that first photo! I remember thinking it was so cool when mom cracked an egg and got a double yolk. I never have…I wonder if you have to be someone special to get one of those! 😀

Your cake looks like modern art…it is just beautiful. I can so see this photo blown up and framed…really intesesting spacing and color variables and the texture is so great…yep, you are an ARTIST this week!

Looks very tasty, too!

Yep we were totally bowled over by the taste of this one. The zest and the cardamom, yum! Way to fit 12 plum halves on there!
