Tuesdays With Dorie – Black & White Banana Loaf

by Jessica on August 5, 2008

After reading the P&Q this week on the TWD board, I was a little worried that when I opened the oven, I’d be left with a runny loaf of banana bread. Luckily, I didn’t have a problem. I did, however, forget to add the rum at the proper time… adding it at the last minute to the chocolate mixture. Oh well, it still tasted yummy; especially with that added shot of rum in the chocolate marbling!!

Chosen by Ashlee of A Year in the Kitchen, I give you the Black & White Banana Loaf… full of chocolate and rum. :)

Great job of this…love the dish. I like how yours turned out more white than chocolate…I may have to do that next time as I like the look of it much better.

The cake looks great — I particularly like the top crust. So glad you liked it.

Your loaf looks especially good-especially the top. I’d say it came out perfect.

Your loaf is stunning! I think the rum in the chocolate would be perfect… and maybe the nutmeg in the banana.

i added kahlua into my chocolate portion…it worked so well with the rum, but i was afraid it might overkill. gotta love the ‘bake out’ of liquor. looks divine!

I like the concentrated rum in the chocolate batter accident! I actually may try that if I make it again!
